Overnight Ski Touring in Whistler
Spend a night under the stars away from the crowds in Whistler Blackcomb’s backcountry
Spend two days ski touring and winter camping in the Blackcomb backcountry. Led by your local ACMG ski guide, you will have the opportunity to brush up on your route planning skills, learn how to pitch your winter campsite and how to manage food and water in the backcountry. Watch the sun go down as you prepare your evening meal with new friends, before spending the night in your cosy tent under the stars.
Details
Where
In order to gain more elevation whilst wearing overnight backpacks, the group will head out to Whistler Blackcomb’s backcountry. The exact location will be determined by weather, snow conditions and overall ski ability of the group.
Who
For adventurous backcountry skiers and snowboarders with a good level of fitness and some ski touring/splitboaring experience. The ski terrain can be tailored to different ski and fitness levels, and the levels of comfort can be turned all the way up for a private booking. A massage looking out over endless snowcapped mountains in the remote backcountry? Why not!
When
We usually run our hosted trips at the end of the season in April, although a private booking can run any time between December and May. Whilst you may find deeper snow earlier in the season, March to May offers the most reliable weather and longer evenings – the temperatures tend to be a little warmer allowing for alfresco après in the evenings.
